In this fourth volume of Chopin's complete works, Roberto Poli's original and thoughtful playing traverses dances, nocturnes, and the monumental Funeral Sonata. The piano, utilized here as a coloristic instrument, reveals new unexplored aspects of the composer's music. The extraordinary Steinway D used for these live recordings is captured in the exquisitely rich and nuanced acoustics offered by the intimate setting in which these performances took place.
