Two different recordings of the same event!

Gianluca Luisi

The year 2005 saw the beginning of a very fruitful collaboration with Gianluca Luisi: the fruits being 5 albums which were completed at Turin on the 12th July 2007.

Keep you eyes open for the imminent release of: Partitas by Bach (2 CDs), Chopin's 4 Scherzos and a Piano Recital containing virtuoso transcriptions. Mr. Luisi recently recorded the complete Well Tempered Clavier (4 CDs) and new albums are in program under the OnClassical label.

Now you may enjoy the first CD of the Italian pianist: Mozart's Late Sonatas in (1) (2) different versions reproducing the same recording but using different microphones (AKG mics. vs Neumann mics.)!

Starting tomorrow, 24th February, the first in a series of recordings for 2009 of recently discovered Italian young talents will begin, and in good time will be launched at onclassical.com. They are all musicians with international experience and recipients of important awards.

The selection was made after consideration of a very large number of proposals that we received during the months of December and January. About ten new recordings have been programmed (at least for the moment), but others are waiting to be confirmed.

Programs soon to be recorded regard works for piano by Chopin, Liszt, Debussy and Satie; and for harpsichord by Handel (amongst others); some chamber music and more.

We continue our collaboration with Simone Stella, now with the monumental edition (in six albums) of the complete organ works by Dietrich Buxtehude. Simone is definitely at home with both this incredible variety of music and the king of the instruments, the organ. His rich choice of colours gives extra value to the just unexceptionable rendition which is also fresh, rhythmic, solar...

The recording is 100% natural, with no additional effect added, nor equalisation. The sound gives the right detail and balance to the instrument without being too dry. In a word: a great collection!
